Hi, below the portion of knowledge for this week.

As to hash functions - if you understand them (their purposes) and differences between locality sensitive, content sensitive and cryptographic hashes it's time to go to ciphers (before you can read more about locality sensitive ones as they play a big role in bitlattice scheme - locality sensitive and an example princeton.edu ).

As to ciphers - basics first. So: wikipedia.org .

Next go there: public-private-key-encryption read and take a piece of paper. Then encrypt a simple message with pen and paper. This works pretty well, you will be amazed how simple it is.

Ah, and I assume you know what prime numbers are - otherwise read first about primes: wikipedia.org .
